Here’s the low-down on what makes our tents awesome:

THE BASICS

Our six tents are located in the Kawarthas on a magnificent 230-acre property encompassing a 55-acre crystal clear spring-fed quarry lake.

Tents are located in a forested area on our private property, each on its own secluded lot. All tents are identical in design and come with:

  • A comfy, queen sized bed
  • A bistro set with 2 chairs
  • 2 Muskoka chairs
  • Picnic table
  • Campfire pit with fire top grill
  • Storage containers
  • Drinking water

WHAT TO PACK

  • Food & drink
  • Dishware, cutlery, and pots/pans for cooking (tents include a fire top grill, but guests should bring their own camp stove if preferred)
  • Sheets, pillows, and blankets
  • Towels for the lake
  • Firewood
  • Bug repellent (critters are a reality of the great outdoors!)

HOW TO COOK

To provide an authentic camping experience, our tents do not have a cooking stove or running water.

We provided 40L of potable water for drinking, cooking, etc and campers can enjoy meals cooked over the fire OR bring their own camp stove.

THE CALL OF NATURE

There is a shared comfort station on site with two composting toilets, and two outdoor showers to ensure you have a comfortable and convenient stay.

ADDED COMFORTS

At Cabinscape, it’s all in the details so we added a few comforts of home to enhance your stay:

  • Romantic festoon lighting
  • 2 Bedside table lamps with a USB phone charger (this is low voltage, so other items cannot be plugged in)
  • A couple board games and playing cards
  • Biodegradable dish soap, shampoo, body wash and conditioner

FUN THINGS TO DO

The opportunities are endless!

  • Swimming or snorkeling off the communal dock
  • Paddle-boarding or canoeing (available to rent)
  • Hiking the onsite trails

Cabincore: Home Style Guide

How to Style Your Home to Feel Like a Cozy Cabin

Are you dreaming of the tranquil charm of a cozy cabin nestled in the woods? Transforming your home into a rustic retreat is easier than you think.

Here are some “cabincore” design tips to infuse your space with the warmth and coziness of a cabin in the woods:

Layered Textures

Create depth and dimension in your space by layering different textures. Mix and match cozy fabrics like faux fur, chunky knits, and soft blankets to add visual interest and tactile comfort.

Traditional Tools

An old-fashioned stovetop kettle and french press offer a timeless style and grounds us in a morning ritual that wakes up all the senses.

Books & Personal Touches

Incorporate personal touches and cherished keepsakes that reflect your love for the outdoors. Display favourite books, vintage maps, hiking gear, and photos from outdoor adventures to add character and warmth to your space.

Embrace Natural Elements

Incorporate natural materials such as wood, stone, and leather into your décor. Opt for furniture pieces with a distressed finish or reclaimed wood for that rustic appeal.

Plaid

Plaid can enhance the design and coziness of a home by adding a timeless and comforting aesthetic that evokes feelings of warmth and nostalgia. Whether used in throw blankets, pillows, or upholstery, plaid patterns infuse a space with rustic charm and visual interest, creating a cozy space reminiscent of traditional cabin living.

Comfort Is Key

If embracing the full cabincore life, adopt it in your own style too! Celebrates simplicity, comfort, and a deep appreciation for nature with chunky knit sweaters, flannel shirts, wool socks, and sturdy boots or slippers.

Bring the Outdoors In

Incorporate elements of nature into your décor, such as botanical prints, landscape paintings, and nature-inspired artwork. Display fresh greenery, branches in rustic vases, or even a favourite paddle.

Cozy Lighting

Set the mood with warm, ambient lighting. Opt for soft, diffused lighting fixtures like table lamps, string lights, and lanterns to create a welcoming glow reminiscent of a cabin retreat.

Warm Colour Palette

Choose earthy tones like deep browns, warm neutrals, forest greens, and rich reds to create a cozy ambiance reminiscent of the outdoors. Add pops of colour with throws, wool rugs, and accent pillows inspired by nature.

Grab our Cabin in the Woods Palette Print for inspo!

Woodsy Scents

If you have a fireplace, make it the focal point of your living space. If you’re limited to only outdoor fires (like at our cabins!) adorn the mantel with nature-inspired candles to enhance the cozy ambiance and charm all the senses.

Our bespoke Cabin in the Woods Candle is the perfect soothing forest medley of balsam, sage, cedarwood, and morning dew.

By incorporating these simple tips and embracing the rustic charm of cabin living, you can create a cozy retreat in the comfort of your own home. Let the beauty of nature guide you or visit a Cabinscape Cabin across Ontario to be inspired!

Hiking Tips for Accessing Our Off-Grid Cabins

Hiking Tips for Accessing Our Off-Grid Cabins

Winter transforms Ontario’s woodlands into a magical wonderland, and what better way to experience it than by hiking in to our off-grid cabins nestled deep in the snowy forests?

Here are our top tips for an adventurous and safe winter hike to your cozy cabin retreat!

Know Your Route

Familiarize yourself with the directions and distances (found in your welcome email sent to you one week prior to your stay) before embarking on your hike. Keep an eye out for trail markers and signs along the way!

If you’re feeling lost, don’t panic! Our Cabinscape text support line is available to provide guidance between 8am-8pm (number in welcome email).

Give Yourself Time

Check-in at our cabins is at either 3 or 4pm (you can find this info under the FAQs on your cabins web page), so plan to arrive with plenty of daylight to get yourself situated at the cabin before the sun sets. We highly recommend that you start your hike before the check in time – our trails are well marked but it is easier to miss signs in the dark.

Check the Weather

Winter weather can be unpredictable, so stay updated on forecasts and conditions before heading out.

Pack Light, Pack Right

If hiking in after the sun has set, be sure to pack a flashlight or head-torch (and maybe some heat packs if your extremities get cold quickly and you have a longer trek)

Check out our handy guide here: THINGS TO BRING for a packing list, and to learn what’s already included at the cabin.

We provide a Pelican Pull Sled (or wagon when there is no snow) to assist you with hauling in your gear! This will be waiting for you at the parking area of your cabin.

Gear Up for the Cold

Bundle up like a pro! Opt for breathable layers, waterproof outerwear, sturdy boots with good traction, and don’t forget your trusty mittens and toque.

We provide two sets of snowshoes as well so your feet can stay warm, dry, and conquer those trails!

Embrace the Winter Wildlife

Keep your eyes peeled for signs of wildlife along the trail—tracks in the snow, rustling in the trees, or the occasional glimpse of a furry friend sharing their home with you!

Respect “Leave No Trace” Principles

Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories! As there is no garbage services at our off-grid cabins, we ask that you pack out all your garbage and leave the wilderness as pristine as you found it. Let’s keep Ontario’s forests wild and beautiful for generations to come!

Most importantly, we hope you enjoy the adventure! Winter hiking isn’t just about reaching your destination—it’s about the journey. Take your time, savour the sights and sounds of the forest, and embrace the serenity of the snowy landscape.

Adventure awaits, explorers! See you on the trails!

If you decided hiking wasn’t for you we also have some great low-remote and drive-up cabins! Read our handy blog here to find your PERFECT CABIN MATCH! Or travel to your cabin in style with our 4WD shuttle delivery- this is available for our Haliburton Base Camp Cabins (MossPineSageIvyJade) and our Haberman Road High Remotness Cabins (WillowCoveKaya, Big Rock, and Quasi)

How to Get into the Festive Spirit this November!

November in Ontario marks the transition from autumnal hues to the cozy embrace of winter. While the snowflakes may not be falling just yet, the festive spirit begins to weave its magic across the province. There is no better place to embrace the season than a trip to our cozy cabins! Take a scenic drive through Ontario’s countryside and discover local, small towns that go all-out for the holidays!

Read on to learn about our top recommendations for fun and festive activities in Kawarthas, Lanark County, Haliburton and Calabogie!

LANARK COUNTY

Lanark County is so popular during the holidays, there is even a book written about it (Lanark County Christmas — Memories of a Yuletide Past by Arlene Stafford-Wilson)! Sleigh rides and baking Christmas cakes are strong traditions in the heart of the Ottawa Valley.

While visiting CABINSCAPE in November, the Once Upon A Christmas event in Downtown Perth is a must! On Saturday November 25th, enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, music, toasty fires, hot chocolate, and even meet Santa! The Annual Santa Clause Parade at Carlton place is also on the same day!

While visiting our Joni cabin, in particular, take a trip to Almonte with its inviting small bookstores, tempting bakeries, and cozy stores. This charming little town is home to many popular Christmas movies you see on TV!

Book your Lanark County escape at our Mason, Joni, Ember, Juniper, Rhya and Mica cabins.

KAWARTHAS

Don’t miss the 26th Annual Kawartha Lakes Festival of Trees from Fri, Nov 17th to Sun, Nov 19th! This year, the festival will offer an array of activities including wagon rides, a Candy Shoppe, and a magical visit from Santa Claus.
The main highlight, of course, will be the hundreds of exquisitely decorated and donated items displayed in the Village, all up for raffle and auction

The nearby historical waterfront town of Fenelon Falls also has their Santa Day on Sat, Nov 25. This free and fun-filled day includes a parade and fireworks display!

Book your Kawarthas escape at our Burdock, Goldenrod, Hawkweed, Stonecrop, Bluebell, Buttercup, Marigold, Callalily, and Woodrush cabins.

HALIBURTON

Our Haliburton location rests on 100,000 acres of forest with beautiful pine and evergreen trees all around. Watching fluffy snowflakes drift down around the cabin is sure to get you in the yuletide mood.

For some family fun, join either the Village of Minden for their Christmas in the Village and Parade on Sat, Nov 18 or the Haliburton Storybook Christmas & Santa Claus Parade on Fri, Nov 24th. Carolling, bands, marching and lights included!

Book your Haliburton escape at our Bone, Baylight, Big Rock, Willow, Quasi, Kaya, Cove, Moss, Sage and Pine cabins.

CALABOGIE

Our Calabogie Cabins sit next door to the Calabogie Peaks Resort, which is a quaint ski resort that becomes a winter wonderland once the snow falls! With all sorts of winter activities available, plus nightly bonfires, live music, and pond skating, just visiting feels like you’ve stepped into a Hallmark movie!

How to say “No” this November

Saying “No” in November: Embracing Self-Care, Family Time, and Relaxation

In a world that often glorifies constant busyness, November presents the perfect opportunity to embrace a different narrative.

This month, let’s challenge the norm and prioritize the self-care, family time, and genuine connection. Here’s how to gracefully say “no” this November, allowing space for what truly matters.

Step 1: Set Boundaries

Learn to set clear boundaries, both at work and in your personal life. Take a pause and ask yourself “does this activity align with my priorities?” or “do I really want to do this?”

Respect your time and energy, and others will too.

Step 2: Learn to Say “No” Gracefully

As social creatures, we have a desire to please others and to be looked upon favourably. This can lead to overcommitting and stretching yourself too thin out of a misplaced sense of obligation. Practice saying “no” gracefully and without guilt.

Remember: Saying “no” to one thing means saying “yes” to something more meaningful.

Step 3: Embrace JOMO

Swap FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) for JOMO (the Joy of Missing Out). Revel in the joy of spending your time YOUR way. Whether that be staying in, escaping to a tiny cabin in the woods, reading a book, or simply lounging with your loved ones. Realize that the most fulfilling moments often happen in the quiet moments.

Check out this book for more tips: The Joy of Missing Out: Live More by Doing Less by Tonya Dalton

Step 4: Prioritize Quality Time with Family or Friends

Spend quality time with your family or friends. Engage in meaningful conversations, cooking together, or outdoor activities. These moments create lasting bonds and beautiful memories, far more valuable than material possessions.

Click HERE to view our kid friendly cabins or HERE for cabins that can accommodate 3+ people

Step 5: Gratitude and Intentional Giving

Cultivate gratitude for what you HAVE rather than what you’re told you need. Reflect on the blessings in your life, fostering contentment and reducing the urge to constantly chase after more.

Instead of participating in the commercial frenzy of the holiday season, maybe opt for DIY or experiential gifts. Handmade presents and heartfelt gestures convey love and care, embodying the true spirit of giving.

CABINSCAPE offers gift cards to provide your loved ones with the gift of adventure, or (if gifts are your thing) explore slow-fashion Canadian brands like Onderbroeks whose cabin-wear is featured throughout this article.

November is the ideal month to shift focus from the external demands of a bustling world to the internal needs of your well-being and relationships. By saying “no” to unnecessary obligations and embracing what matters to you, you pave the way for a more fulfilling, balanced life. This November, let your “no” be a powerful affirmation of your priorities, leading you toward a more meaningful and harmonious existence.

Elopement Wedding Trends in 2024

Top Trends for your Dream Elopement in Ontario

In the heart of nature, under a canopy of ancient trees, love stories unfold in the most intimate and enchanting ways. Elopements have become more than just a trend; they are a celebration of love in a simple and pure form.

For couples seeking an intimate escape, our off-grid nature elopements and tiny cabin stays offer a dreamy backdrop to say “I do”. Let’s delve into the top elopement trends shaping these secluded ceremonies!

With weddings, sometimes less is more, and there is a growing trend towards budget-friendly elopements, with couples choosing sustainable alternatives, minimal guest lists, and personalized vows.

We’ve interviewed Heather MacArthur, the Head Event Planner & Professional Organizer for Bowtied with Love, and CABINSCAPE’s official partner for our Lanark County & Calabogie weddings, to bring you insights from an industry pro:

What are some of your favourite eco-conscious wedding trends?

Renting, thrifting, or borrowing decor instead of buying it. I try to encourage couples to use items that they can incorporate back into their homes as keepsakes after the wedding. Another would be to source out a local flower farm and only use florals that are in season. Ditching floral foam and replacing it with other reusable options like chicken wire is also a great way to help the environment. Another trend we are seeing a lot of is up-cycled wedding rings. This might be a family ring that has been resized or a thrifted ring.

Lets look at: emerging trends in elopement attire for 2024?

Elopement seekers are choosing pre-owned wedding dresses and suits that are purchased rather than rented, which means they can wear them again and again. There has been an increase in wedding attire thrift shops across Canada. Short dresses also seem to be on the rise for 2024. Shorter wedding dresses were also popular in the 1920’s and in the 1950’s.

What are some unique ways couples are personalizing their elopement ceremonies in 2024?

They are heading to locations that speak to them as a couple. Whether it’s a cabin in the woods, the top of a mountain, or their favourite restaurant, couples are going all out to find elopement locations with a bit of a wow factor.  While city hall weddings “get it done” they are rather bland and boring. Couples want to be able to tell their friends and family and maybe even their kids and grandkids about their love story. It’s a special day and it really does deserve special attention.

What advice can you give to couples planning an elopement today?

Hire professionals that can help you design and capture your wedding day. Wedding planners have a wealth of resources for couples to draw from and most are creative so even if you can’t decide where to get married, tell them your story, and watch the magic happen.

Weddings do not have to be elaborate or expensive but they should be special. Professional photographers and videographers can help you capture the day perfectly. The day will go by in the blink of an eye but the images and video can help you re-live the day over and over again.

What is the thing that most couples forget on their special day?

Hopefully nothing if they’ve hired a planner. It’s the planner’s responsibility to make sure that it all comes together seamlessly, however, they cannot be everywhere at once. Sometimes when florals are dropped off to a getting ready location they inadvertently get forgotten in all the excitement and someone has to go back and get them. Couples may also forget to take a few moments away from all of the festivities to reflect on their day. You spend weeks, months and sometimes years to plan one day of your life and it all goes by so quickly. Take all the time you need to slow down and enjoy it.

Our Cabinscape Elopement Packages include:

  • Two nights at your chosen CABINSCAPE cabin, so you can decompress & enjoy the property both before & after your special day
  • Basic planning services with established local professionals – a licensed officiant, professional photographer, cake, flowers & bubbly are all covered
  • Up to two ‘day guests’ are welcome to come & enjoy the ceremony, so you can share this special moment with those you love

Reach out to bookings@cabinscape.com for date availability and further details!

Spooky Haunted Places in Ontario

Eerie Ontario: Top Road Trip Stops for Spooky Haunts and Cozy Cabins

Embrace the thrill of the unknown and the comfort of nature on a spine-tingling road trip to some of Ontario’s most haunted places. If you’re a fan of eerie tales and ghostly encounters, we’ve curated a list of the spookiest spots near some of our cabins. Get ready for a road trip full of history, mystery, and cozy nights under the stars.

Near Perth

Perth Museum (the Old Matheson House)  11 Gore St. E., Perth, Ontario

Perth has a rich history, with beautiful limestone homes dating back over 200 years. The site of the current Museum was originally owned by Senator Roderick Matheson and his seven beautiful daughters. Local reporting states that the girls were allegedly very attached to the gardens and some have claimed there have been unexplainable sounds, shadows, and spooky feelings around this old landmark.

Near Haliburton

Haliburton Highland’s Museum’s Reid House 66 Museum Road, Haliburton, ON K0M 1S0

Built in the late 1800s, this house was home to two generations of the Reid family before being turned into a museum. Inside, the Reid House looks much as it would have appeared at the time it was inhabited by John Russell and Janet Reid in the late 1900s. Past staff and visitors have recalled mysterious encounters with both a woman and young boy wanting to play who then disappear without a trace. More details on those stories here.

Near Kawarthas

Screaming Heads 981 Midlothian Rd, Burk’s Falls

While it may not be haunted or have any spooky history, there’s a site in Burks Falls, north of Muskoka, which contains monsters. Screaming Heads is a 310 acre art exhibit by Peter Camani which features massive eerie sculptures emerging from the ground. It’s a bit of a drive (1.75 hrs from Kawartha Cabins or 2hrs from Haliburton) but worth the trek! It is a private property, so if the gate is closed, please just admire from the road.

Academy Theatre 2 Lindsay St S, Lindsay

Lindsay’s Academy Theatre is known for its 130 years of performing arts history and also it’s resident ghost, Mary. The story goes that Mary was apparently a live-in caretaker for the theatre before she fell to her death, and has remained behind to continue enjoying shows from seat 13, flickering lights, and harmlessly moving objects around.

Near Calabogie

Buck Hill Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards

Legend goes that during the depression, a man and his daughter lived at the bottom of the hill. One night when the man went out to grab firewood, their dog ran off and his young daughter chased after it. The man searched endlessly for his daughter to no avail, and it is said his spirit searches for her still. The site is an hour away from our Cabins but apparently popular with local ghost hunters who often call out “Daddy Daddy Daddy” at the start of their spooky explorations.

Ontario’s haunted sites offer a unique blend of history and mystery, making them perfect destinations for brave souls seeking an adrenaline rush. After a day of spine-tingling adventures, there’s no better way to unwind than in the warm embrace of a tiny cabin in the woods. Plan your road trip, explore the unknown, and return to the cozy comforts of your cabin to share your tales of ghostly encounters under the stars. Happy haunting!

Top 6 Tips to Digitally Detox

Embracing Nature’s Bliss: A Guide to Digital Detox

In the era of instant notifications and endless scrolling, taking a break from the digital world is a breath of fresh air. Heading to a off-grid cabin in the woods provides an unparalleled opportunity to rejuvenate and rediscover the world beyond screens. Here’s how you can make the most of it:

1. Setting Your Intentions

Clear Purpose, Clear Mind: The first step towards any commitment is knowing your ‘why’. Are you aiming for complete disconnection, or simply controlled, limited usage? Setting clear parameters will guide your detox journey and make it more fruitful.

Communication is Key: It’s essential to inform friends and family about your detox decision. This step not only ensures they’ll respect your boundaries but also manages their expectations.

2. Unplugging and Unwinding

Breaking Digital Chains: While it may feel daunting, powering down your devices is liberating. Ensure that only necessary apps remain accessible, keeping distractions at bay. To help with this, consider using Opal. This iOS app lets you select and block certain apps for a set period of time, without it being possible to bypass your sessions.

Venture Out: Replace screen time with nature time. Whether it’s hiking, stargazing, journaling, or meditation, the environment around Cabinscape is conducive to all. Don’t forget to pack essentials like a notebook or hiking shoes!

3. Embracing Nature’s Beauty

Soulful Exploration: Engage in forest bathing – a Japanese tradition that promotes being in the presence of trees. Listen to the rustling leaves, watch birds, or explore nearby trails. The goal is to be present, letting nature’s beauty envelope and soothe you.

4. Nurturing Human Connections

Building Bonds: The absence of screens is an opportunity to connect with travel companions on a deeper level. Engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and spend quality time together.

Activities to Connect: From cooking to storytelling around a campfire, shared activities can forge stronger bonds. Embrace the old-world charm, without technology.

“Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is relax.” – Mark Black

5. Reflecting and Reevaluating

Learning From The Silence: Use this detox period to reflect. Understand your emotions, recognize your digital habits, and contemplate any changes you want to make.

Post-Detox Digital Life: To see long-term benefits, set up a routine to help you regulate your use when you’re back in the digital world. Schedule app blocking sessions and app limits when you wake up and before going to bed. Again, Opal can help you with this. In addition, with features like the Focus Score and Weekly Reports, you’ll be more aware of your digital habits and can make informed changes.

6. Reconnecting Gradually

Steady Steps: Don’t dive headfirst back into the digital world. Gradually reintroduce devices into your life, taking forward the lessons from your retreat.

Everlasting Impact: Remember, a digital detox isn’t just about those few days away from screens. It’s about carrying forward the mindfulness and balance into your daily life.

Our friend’s at Opal have provided a special 20% discount code for their annual subscription to help achieve your digital-detox goals- along with a 7-day free trial for your escape to the woods!

If you’re looking for a list of this season’s essential cabin reads, you’ve come to the right place! Scroll down to learn more about the books you should be packing on your next trip into the wilderness.

MIDNIGHT IS THE DARKEST HOUR by Ashley Winstead

From the bestselling author of In My Dreams I Hold a Knife comes another propulsive, psychological thriller that is best described as  Where the Crawdads Sing meets Twilight meets Thelma and Louise.

In her small hometown, librarian Ruth Cornier has always felt like an outsider, even as her father rains fire-and-brimstone warnings from the pulpit at Holy Fire Baptist. Unfortunately for Ruth, the only things the townspeople fear more than God and the devil are the myths that haunt the area. So, when a skull is found in the swamp next to mysterious carved symbols, the town is thrown into uproar and it’s up to Ruth and an old friend with a dark past to comb the secret underbelly of the town in search of the true evil.

If this is your CABINSCAPE read, be warned. This chilling read might be perfect for spooky season, but it’s also one you’re going to want to read with the lights on! Pre-order HERE

THE LEFTOVER WOMAN by Jean Kwok

If you’re looking for a book that is equal parts evocative family drama and riveting mystery, Jean Kwok’s forthcoming novel should be at the top of your reading list.

There are so many layers in this story, from the vast disparities between the privileged and the disadvantaged living in New York to the complicated relationships between mothers and their children. At its core, this is the story of two women in strikingly different circumstances set on a collision course, pulled together by the question of what it means to be a loving mother to your child.

Pack your tissues if you’re bringing The Leftover Woman on vacation as it’s guaranteed to be an emotional ride from start to finish.

THE FUTURE by Naomi Alderman

The bestselling, award-winning author of The Power returns with this action-packed dystopian thriller that is truly impossible to put down. The Future sets the stage by introducing us to a few billionaires, who are leading the world to destruction while safeguarding their own survival with secret lavish bunkers. The Future is a handful of friends—the daughter of a cult leader, a non-binary hacker, an ousted Silicon Valley visionary, the concerned wife of a dangerous CEO, and an internet-famous survivalist—who come together to plan a daring heist. And it could either save everyone or lead to the cataclysmic end of civilization.

For anyone who is tired of witnessing corruption by people in power, or who are simply looking for a novel that unfolds at a breakneck speed with twists and turns at every corner, Naomi Alderman’s new novel is the perfect fall read.

THE HURRICANE WARS by Thea Guanzon

Fantasy romance lovers, this is set to be the spicy Star Wars-inspired book of your dreams. Set in a Southeast Asia-inspired world that is ravaged by storms, Thea Guanzon’s debut novel features all the tropes we can’t get enough of, including: slow burn romance, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and marriage of convenience, or what I like to call “marriage first, feelings later”.

If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok wondering what to read after finishing books from Sarah J. Maas, R. F. Kuang, and Ali Hazelwood, add The Hurricane Wars to your suitcase, stat!

TIME TO SHINE by Rachel Reid

Craving an opposites-attract romance? While we’re not trying to wish winter would come early, we aren’t able to resist the opportunity to tell you about this Canadian-set romance all about finding your place, finding your people and finding your way back to the one you love most.

Set in the world of hockey and featuring a shy goaltender and his charming All-Star teammate, Time to Shine can only be described as a smile-inducing, feet-swinging read. Landon and Casey’s electrifying chemistry as they go from teammates to roommates, and finally to lovers is made even more swoon-worthy with pages of witty banter, spicy scenes and of course, holiday magic.

Needless to say that even on the coldest nights, this read will bring the heat to keep you warm. Learn more and order your copy HERE.

WAVEWALKER by Suzanne Heywood

We’re rounding out this list with a book that reminds us of Educated by Tara Westover, but with its own inspiring and terrifying story. This heartbreaking and hopeful memoir chronicles Suzanne Heywood’s life from the age of seven, when she set sail with her parents and brother on what was supposed to be a three-year voyage around the world – that turned into a decade-long nightmare. No one else knew where they were most of the time and no state showed any interest in what was happening to the children.

This is ultimately a survival story of a child deprived of safety, friendships, schooling, and occasionally drinking water. It’s one that you won’t be able to put down while reading it and you won’t be able to stop thinking about it long after you’ve closed the pages. Grab a copy HERE.

Fall is a season that invites us to slow down, cozy up, and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the natural world. Carving out some time to read and reset while staying in a cozy cabin in the woods will not only enhance your appreciation for the changing seasons but also provide a sense of tranquility and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. So, gather your favourite book, pour a cup of tea, and let the pages transport you to new worlds while the autumn leaves fall gently outside your window. Happy reading!
