Whether the you are looking for backwoods adventure, dream of a cliff top ceremony or plan to skinny dip when the clock strikes midnight, our CABINSCAPE Weddings: Elopement Experience is designed so you can completely customize your special day.

If you dream of saying “I do” with a wilderness backdrop, our elopement partners, Bowtied With Love & The Organic Moment will help you create a ceremony day that is uniquely yours, with customization and enhancement options that provide the flexibility you need to make the most of your wedding day!

All Cabinscape Elopements include:

  • Two nights at your chosen CABINSCAPE cabin, so you can decompress & enjoy the property both before & after your ceremony day
  • Basic planning services with established local professionals – a licensed officiant, professional photographer, cake, flowers & bubbly are all covered
  • Up to two day guests are welcome to come & enjoy the ceremony, so you can share this special moment with those who know you best

Our Elopement package is available for dates starting Spring 2024 onward.

INTIMATE WEDDINGS

In partnership with professional wedding planners, we will be offering a customizable wilderness wedding experience for small gatherings of up to 8 guests, deep in the forested regions of Southern Ontario.

With access to acres of sprawling forest that surround your chosen cabin, you and your guests are in for an unforgettable overnight experience. Take a swim in your own private lake, hike on-site trails, or simply sit together by the bonfire and enjoy your special day. Let our team redefine the “camp wedding” for you, so you can take in everything nature has to offer.

All Cabinscape Intimate Weddings include:

  • A custom ceremony location – whether you prefer a creekside, lakeside, fireside or standing waterfall ceremony, you have the choice to select your special spot to say “I do”
  • Special wedding rates for your Bridal Suite cabin of choice – a private space to decompress after a whirlwind day
  • Exclusive access to guest lodging at neighboring cabins
  • Private lake access (watercraft included!), on-site trails and a list of recommended activities to ensure you and your guests are able to enjoy every moment of your special getaway

Whether you are burning to learn something new or want to explore every corner of the Haliburton Highlands, we have partnered with local guides at Yours Outdoors to bring exclusive adventure experiences to Cabinscape guests. Browse below to learn more about our seasonal offerings.

Winter 2024

Available for December, January, February & March reservations
Guided Snowmobile Tour (January to early-March)

Known as “Ontario’s snowmobiling wonderland” with over 400 km of well developed and carefully maintained snowmobile and winter ATV trails, Haliburton Forest is considered to be one of the Top 10 snowmobiling destinations in North America. Take advantage of the wooded trails and winter escape by joining an experienced sledder for a 2 hour long trek along the trails. Rental sled included (note: one sled is shared for two guests from the same party).

Cost: $370 + tax (for two people)

Ice Fishing (mid-January to early-March)

With over 100 lakes and healthy fish populations Haliburton Forest is the perfect ice fishing destination for the adventurous angler. You will travel by snowmobile to one or more remote lakes to catch lake trout, brookies and rainbows.

A professional guide will work with you to plan an adventure of a lifetime including what species to target, what lakes to visit and what routes to take. You will have the option of a half day or a full day adventure. The full day adventure includes a hearty and nutritious hot lunch prepared and served directly on the ice, providing a great opportunity to sit back and take in the surroundings as well as the energy to get through a full day out in the elements. If all goes well the lunch may feature the fish you have caught that morning!

Cost: $450 + tax (for two people)

X-Country Skiing (mid-December to mid- March)

Skiing is a quiet way of exploring the natural wonders of winter. Come glide into winter with this half day introduction to cross country skiing. If you are new to x-country skiing, we will teach you the basics in either skate or classic style and guide you along scenic trails that are suited to your level of ability. If you have skied before let us help you refine your technique and take you through some rugged and beautiful terrain. You will find your stride under the guidance of an expert ski instructor. The Haliburton Highlands is known as one of Ontario’s best x-country ski destinations, and boasts more than 100 km of groomed nordic trails.

This experience is offered in cooperation with the Haliburton Highlands Nordic Trails Association, and is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to improve their technique.

Bring your own skis or rent them with us. Snacks & a hot drink for each participant is included.

Cost: $150 + tax (for two people & rentals)

Ice Climbing (mid-January to early-March only)

Take advantage of the winter weather on this icy half day adventure! No experience necessary, as this is an experience geared towards beginners looking to get a taste of what this sport has to offer. Learn the basics and how to safely take a swing at ice climbing. This experience is very physical and requires good level of fitness. All equipment is provided (boots, crampons, helmets, harnesses, ice tools) along with transportation from Base Camp to the ice wall.

Please keep in mind, this activity is weather and condition dependent, so tours may be rescheduled or cancelled if major storms are predicted or if the ice wall conditions deteriorate.

Cost: $330 + HST (for two people)

Haliburton Maple Tasting (mid-March to early-April only)

Make your way to Haliburton Forest Base Camp for a sap and tap experience like no other! This tour takes place steps away from your cabin, and gives you a true taste of maple magic. Hike through the Forest’s sugar bush, peek inside the rustic sugar shake and take away interesting insights from the impressive journey from sap to syrup, all while tasting various local maple products.

This experience is designed specifically for adults, as you will be tasting various maple grades, types, and varieties in true terroir fashion. Bring your sweet tooth, because after the tour you’ll head over to the Haliburton Forest Cookhouse for a fresh stack of fluffy pancakes made onsite, with freshly tapped maple syrup drizzled on top. And a maple flavoured alcoholic (or non-alcoholic) beverage.

Each adult guest will receive 50% off same day purchases of Haliburton Forest maple syrup.  This experience is approximately 2 hours.  

Cost: $125/couple & $175/family + HST

Spring 2024

Available for March, April & May reservations

Make Your Own Paddle

In this unique and artistic adventure, you’ll get a chance to witness the plan of the paddle, from start to finish. Join skilled woodworker Corey Pietryszyn for a detailed tour of the Haliburton Forest Paddleshop, learning about the art, science, and beauty of paddle craftsmanship. After workshop tour, you’ll get a chance to add your unique laser engraving to a paddle of your own; a usable piece of art that will hold the memories of the day!

If you have a design in mind, please bring it along and you can try to get it laser engraved.

This memorable experience includes guidance, direction, laser engraving, and two unique and usable paddles for you to bring on your next adventure!

Cost: $616/couple + HST

Summer 2023

Canoe Excursion

Paddling a canoe is a truly Canadian experience. In this half day introduction you will learn the basics – strokes, techniques, and safety – and go for a shoreline paddle to practice your new found skills. Suitable for beginners and those looking to improve under the guidance of an expert certified instructor. Bring your cabin canoe (waterfront cabins only) or rent one.

This experience includes an expert certified leader, 3 hours of instruction and paddling, a canoe, paddles, and PFD (if required).

Cost: $260 (for two people) + HST

Rock Climbing in the Highlands

A scenic drive will take you out to Haliburton Forest’s own natural rock climbing wall, deep in the heart of the forest. This program will teach you the ins and outs of rock climbing on a natural rock wall and all the gear you need to do it is supplied.

Certified instructors will help you safely gear up, belay and encourage you as you climb your way up the rockface. All skill levels are welcome, minimum age of 6 to participate. Youth
must be accompanied by adults.

Includes 4 hours of instruction and climbing
with a guide, all gear and transportation to site from Base Camp. No belaying experience required, participants will be belayed by guide.

Cost: $340 (for two people) + HST

Dinner with Wolves

Experience the magic of Haliburton Forest’s resident wolf pack in an intimate and personal way. This experience includes 2 hours of private access to the Wolf Centre during which a 3-course dinner catered by Truss Foodworks will be served.

Guests will enjoy their dinner in the main observation room, where the wolves are visible just outside the windows.

This meal includes a salad starter, steak dinner and dessert. Alternate protein options are
available based on dietary restrictions. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Cost: $230 (for two people) + HST

Fall Colors Canopy Tour

Explore the incredible fall colors of the Haliburton Highlands on this exclusive trek through the treetops of Haliburton Forest. On this guided tour, you’ll have the privilege of wandering in the canopy 10-20 metres above the ground, exploring the wilderness with a trained naturalist, who will identify birds, trees, plants, and animals along your journey. At over half a kilometre long (the longest canopy boardwalk of its kind in the world), you’ll be sure to see some wildlife and a spectacular view of the changing foliage. Available until October 15th, 2023.

Cost: $200/couple OR $360/family (maximum of 2 adult, 2 children) + HST
