This conservation fee directly contributes to ongoing research, youth education and sustainability initiatives. This cabin shares the lake with our Willow, Kaya & Cove cabins, and is the perfect base camp for cyclists, hikers and paddlers wanting a place to relax and unwind after a day of adventuring in the Haliburton Highlands. In the winter guests can take advantage of the snowy conditions of the Algonquin Dome for an ultimate snowmobile & winter ATVing getaway!

     

    As part of our partnership with Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve, our guests have access to 100,000 acres of wilderness for each day of their stay. Enjoy over 400km of hiking & mountain biking trails right outside your door from April through November, or purchase a snowmobile pass once the snow falls to access these unique, professionally groomed trails throughout the winter months.

     

    Please keep in mind that after Deer Hunting Season in mid-November, this back-country cabin is hike-in or snowmobile/ATV access only. We provide a sled and snowshoes for the hike-in, but please note, this is a challenging ~2 hour hike on rugged terrain. We recommend the hike-in for experienced adventurers only. However, for an additional fee, guests can opt into our shuttling service from mid-November to May to be shuttled to and from the cabin when they check-in and check-out – no hike required!

    Burdock cabin is located on a magnificent 230 acre property overlooking a sparkling blue, spring-fed lake (the result of a former limestone quarry). This incredibly unique and otherworldly landscape is just 1.5 hours from Toronto and will soon be the site of our long-awaited Cabinscape Camp: Kawarthas.

    By March 2022, this pristine lake will be home to 5 lakeside cabins, each on its own big, beautiful and secluded lot – with dreamy desert-like vistas. Later this spring, we are launching a handful of canvas rental tents, as well as a large communal shore dock, to take advantage of this truly epic location. More cabins will be added to the meadows and forested grounds in autumn 2022, and a sheltered lakeside pavilion will be added in 2023 for meals and gatherings.

    Burdock is the forth cabin in our growing Kawartha fleet! All lakeside cabins are identical in design and come with their own fire pit, paddle board, BBQ, picnic table, two Muskoka chairs, and a private dock at the water’s edge. Paddleboards are swapped out for two complimentary adult-sized pairs of snowshoes in the winter months.

    Due to the realities of this site and the safety risks involved, we do not recommend this cabin for families with children under the age of 6. Pets are also not permitted here. See the “Be Aware” section below for more detail.

    Ember cabin is a trailside, hike-in retreat located directly on the Tay-Havelock rail trail overlooking the Fall River. This “Cabinscape” is the perfect base camp for cyclists, hikers and paddlers wanting a place to relax and unwind after a day of adventuring. Guests looking for an aquatic adventure can take our canoe out and explore the river and its connecting lakes. Visitors will park at the public trailhead and hike or bike a few short minutes (500 meters approx.) along the trail to our private property in the woods.

    Our Calabogie cabins (Finch, Starling and Wren) are located on the forested grounds of Calabogie Peaks Resort, suspended above the shores of Calabogie Lake near the base of Dickson Mountain. Each cabin offers expansive views of the lake and land below with direct access to some of the best hiking trails in Southern Ontario. Experience breathtaking views, world class hiking, cycling, skiing, and more. Explore thousands of acres of crown land through the lush Ottawa Valley — including the renown Eagles Nest lookout!
     
    As part of our partnership with Calabogie Peaks Resort, Resort Day Passes (optional) are available to Cabinscape guests who want the full resort experience. The resort offers limitless seasonal activities like snowboarding, paddling, tennis, a public beach, golf course, spa and two on-site restaurants.
     
    Located away from the main resort on a secluded part of the property, all three cabins are identical in design and come with their own fire pit, BBQ and picnic table. Each cabin is located about 200-300 metres apart from its neighbour on its own forested lot. These cabins are ideal for guests who prefer to be close to amenities with access to lots of outdoor activities. (If you’re looking for a more remote/backcountry wilderness experience, you’ll want to check out our medium or high remote level cabins).

This incredibly unique and otherworldly landscape is just 1.5 hours from Toronto and is the site of our long-awaited Cabinscape Camp: Kawarthas.

    By March 2022, this pristine lake will be home to 5 lakeside cabins, each on its own big, beautiful and secluded lot – with dreamy desert-like vistas. Later this spring, we are launching a handful of canvas rental tents, as well as a large communal shore dock, to take advantage of this truly epic location. More cabins will be added to the meadows and forested grounds in autumn 2022, and a sheltered lakeside pavilion will be added in 2023 for meals and gatherings.

    Stonecrop cabin is one of the first in our growing Kawartha fleet! All lakeside cabins are identical in design and come with their own fire pit, paddleboard, BBQ, picnic table, two Muskoka chairs, and a private dock at the water’s edge. Paddleboards are swapped out for two complimentary adult-sized pairs of snowshoes in the winter months.
