Ember cabin is a trailside, hike-in retreat located directly on the Tay-Havelock rail trail overlooking the Fall River. This “Cabinscape” is the perfect base camp for cyclists, hikers and paddlers wanting a place to relax and unwind after a day of adventuring. Guests looking for an aquatic adventure can take our canoe out and explore the river and its connecting lakes. Visitors will park at the public trailhead and hike or bike a few short minutes (500 meters approx.) along the trail to our private property in the woods.

Named after the iconic Canadian folk songstress, Joni Mitchell, this intimate wilderness retreat provides a quiet place to escape amongst 77 wooded acres in the hills of Pakenham, a historic rural community on the edge of the Ottawa Valley. The cabin sits between a high valley ridge and a quiet forest, perched above a meandering bubbling brook offering a tranquil atmosphere sure to recharge and refocus you.

Explore the leisure trails this unique property has to offer through rolling hills, maple groves, creeks and natural artesian springs. Spend a day exploring the more expansive hiking trails in the area and the historic villages of Mississippi Mills nestled along the Mississippi River.

It’s the ideal retreat for guests who seek a secluded wilderness getaway without having to venture too far off the beaten path. Despite being close to civilization, the cabin is located in an idyllic and private spot (you won’t find any neighbours or cottages in sight). Relax, swim, fish or take our canoe out and explore the connecting lakes in the area.

Designed especially for two adults (or small families), Juniper cabin offers a cozy, clean, minimalist, rustic and open-concept design with panoramic windows to bring the natural beauty of this unique, rugged property inside.

Meet Mica Cabin, one of our most remote “Cabinscapes” to date. This off-grid retreat is located in Eastern Ontario on Rideau Valley Conservation land in beautiful Tay Valley. The cabin overlooks a quiet, protected lake and is surrounded by wilderness. The only other cabin in this amazing location is our Rhya Cabin, which is hidden in an inlet behind the trees 400 meters away. These neighboring locations have been specifically designed so you can enjoy the privacy of being alone in the woods on serene conservation land with the comfort of knowing others are nearby. Enjoy evening sunsets from your deck, hiking trails off your doorstep, bird watching and pristine paddling on Mills Lake.

This off-grid retreat overlooks a quiet, protected lake and is surrounded by wilderness. Rhya is comfortably tucked in an inlet of it’s very own, but shares the lake with our Mica Cabin, which is situated on a peninsula 400 meters away. These neighboring locations have been specifically designed to be hidden from each other amongst the trees, so you can enjoy the privacy of being alone in the woods on serene conservation land with the comfort of knowing others are nearby.
